A primary school teacher in Cameroon has accused President Paul Biya of failing to keep his promise to buy him a house and a car.
The 99-year-old added that the President had also promised to employ his jobless daughter at the National Social Insurance Fund, but this was yet to happen.
Mr Pah Raphael Mfou’ou Ebo’o, who met the President last year during the annual agricultural show in Ebolowa region, is now unhappy that his former pupil seems to have raised his hopes unnecessarily.
"He told his Director of Cabinet Martin Belinga Eboutou to take care of my daughter’s employment problem but to date, nothing has happened," the old man said.
Pah Ebo’o taught President Biya at St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Ndeng over 70 years ago.
"Will he fulfill his promise after my death?” He asked. adding that he is already very old.
"I will be 100 in a year’s time," he told journalists who paid him a visit last weekend.
Pah Ebo’o who calls Biya “King Solomon” because he said he was a very clever pupil, revealed that some sources informed him that the President had dispatched the car through the Governor of the South Region, who allegedly confiscated it.
However, when contacted by Africa Review on Monday, Governor Jules Marcellin Ndjaga said he had nothing to do with the promises made by the President to individuals. He also said he knew nothing about the car.
